The
Spanish Club had its first meeting of the semester Jan. 17 and started off with
a worthwhile cause. The club members crafted more than 50 Valentines for women
and children in the Pan De Vida Shelter in Sandoval, Mexico. The club also collected
bilingual children's books for Pan De Vida and Any Baby Can.
“We're proud of how successful the Holiday Book Drive has
been,” Spanish Club president senior Christina Chang said. “This annual service
project helps students focus on the Spanish language and culture by promoting
service and literacy.”
In addition to regularly scheduled after-school meetings, the Spanish Club gathers at 6 p.m. at Tres Amigos every first Tuesday of each month.
