All-State Musicians

Nine Westlake Band students were selected for the Texas All-State Band for 2008.  They are considered now in the top 1% of all High School Musicians in the State of Texas.  Selected were Seniors, Ashton Wingfield (French Horn), Rachel Polk (French Horn), Josh James (French Horn), Etienne Massicotte (Trumpet), Andrew Del Piero (Tuba), Nick Snyder (Tuba), and Gilman Lykken (Bassoon).  Sophomores chosen are John Turman (French Horn), and Robert Andon (Trumpet).  Each will perform at the annual Texas Music Educators Convention in February in San Antonio.
Westlake had the most students in the Area E grouping of schools selected for the All-State band.  Nine is the largest number of all-state students Westlake has ever had.  Congratulations!
