Shooting for fun
Photography Club matures from it's infancy to a well-established society
Less than four months old, with a seemingly exclusive group of members and a reputation for fun, the Photography Club has been making quite a name for itself. With meetings that range from running around Westlake for an hour-and-a-half to sitting in the yearbook room plotting themes for future meetings, this once-a-week event is a wonderful creative outlet for the budding photographers at Westlake.
"I wasn't in very many clubs before this, and I love photography," president junior Paul Zuker said. "I started talking to some of my friends and we thought it would be a good idea to start a club where all we did was take photos. The best thing about this club is being around people who are all passionate about the same thing."
Having no planned events for the meetings, Photography Club may indeed epitomize spontaneity. They meet every Wednesday in Cindy Todd's room, 908, from after-school until around 5:30 p.m. depending on the activity for that day. A fancy camera is not required, as many of the members use basic point-and-shoot cameras. They welcome newcomers, while hoping that the craziness doesn't scare anybody off.
