Harry Potter Appreciation Club
Although they may not be considered a team, nor do they actually belong in UIL, the Harry Potter Appreciation Club has just as much of a social impact as do many other clubs. Quidditch is the name of the game this season, and team leaders juniors Adrienne Dodd, Carsen Russell and Kate Travis are planning to have an excellent semester, competing with teams around Austin and beyond.
“With Harry Potter being a huge phenomenon that our age group has grown up with, it only makes sense that there would be such a great club to experience one’s true feelings about Harry Potter,” sophomore Connor Campbell said.
Since the weather outside is less than perfect right now, waiting is the only option, and hopes of practicing are in the near future. The group does plan to meet for picnics and anything else that would be fun and outdoorsy.
“I hope we can play other teams this season, and when we do have games we’ll have potluck picnics,” Adrienne said.
Waiting may not be the easiest for these die-hard Harry Potter fans, but in the end it will all be worth it.
