Smart Phone battle
Only 37 years ago cell phones were just being made. Now some of the newest, most technologically advanced phones are battling it out to see who the best is. After individually evaluating each contestant, we picked our favorite and rated each accordingly.
iPhone:
The iPhone never ceases to amaze us with its vivid screen quality, mind-boggling number of apps and functional navigation system. It was the first true smart phone to be released to the public in 2007. The iPhone is quick and responsive, with more amenities than one could wish for. However, it has the worst call quality of the phones we reviewed because of habitual dropped calls. Overall, it is a well-put-together phone with amazing technology wrapped up into a lightweight package. 9 out of 10
Droid:
The Droid is one of Verizon Wireless’ attempts at a competing phone in the smart phone market. The applications are nice, but can’t compete with the massive number of apps available with the iPhone. We were impressed with the voice recognition for the internet and GPS system. We did have a problem with getting used to how the phone was set up because some of its layout is confusing. In the end, we did find the phone to be one of the better Verizon smart phones and it will definitely stand a chance in the smart phone rat race. 7.5 out of 10
Google:
The T-mobile myTouch 3G is a sleek, compact, lightweight smart phone with great display. While testing this phone, we found it to be easily navigable and the reaction time was spot on. Although T-mobile is down on the list for service providers, the Google myTouch is a great choice for business as well as pleasure users. Some cons about this phone are the small screen size and lack of memory space. 7 out of 10
HTC:
The HTC Imagio is a new Verizon Wireless smart phone. While testing this phone the first time, we were kicked in the butt when the phone froze while we tried out the GPS. Once we started looking at it again, we found it to be a very good phone. The Imagio looked as if it had potential, but of course, it froze again. The HTC Imagio is a regularly priced phone with a great layout of its applications, but that’s about the only nice thing we can say. It has an exceptionally slow GPS and a very slow overall speed. 4 out of 10
We came to choose the iPhone as the best smart phone available right now. We think it is the best phone overall, aside from its poor call quality. It has the best apps and easiest layout. It is obvious why this phone is a best seller.
