Life under the ocean

In honor of Earth Day 2010, Disney nature filmed Oceans, a documentary consisting of shots from the bottom of the ocean to the ice in the Arctic. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the movie was highly entertaining, especially for a nature documentary.

The way the film was arranged made it more like a story than a documentary, which was very refreshing. Oceans showed a perspective that most aren’t used to seeing, which was the marine lives, and how they go about surviving under the sea.

We as humans don’t always think about the consequences of our lifestyle when it comes to wildlife, and that’s exactly what Disney’s Oceans showed, with a short scene on the pollution spreading throughout the oceans and the affect it has on the marine wildlife. Oceans has inspired me to be more carefully with what I put in the garbage and to think about exactly where it’s going after the truck picks it up.

Aside from the educational bit from the movie, there were also many scenes of baby animals that received many “awe’s” from the audience. So, if you want to learn about marine life and its many forms, or you just want to see cute baby seals and dolphins, then I highly recommend this movie.
